Do you really design and make Ironfire Industrial Furniture yourselves?
All of our Ironfire Furniture is proudly designed and built in our Wiltshire workshops. Everything is custom-made to order from our modular components but we supply quickly. We also promise to keep in touch about delivery date of your table, racking, chair or lighting. The only items we outsource are the soft furnishings and glass for which our partners are selected very carefully to ensure they share our passion and drive for quality.
Do you use quality materials?
We try to avoid hyperbole about what we do and be straightforward. We are however passionate about the quality of all materials and components that go into Ironfire Furniture. As far as possible everything we use is manufactured in the UK. Our metal frames are made from 3mm zinc galvanised steel and then powder coated with a textured anthracite/graphite finish, for a practical hard-wearing finish. All of the wood we use is Douglas Fir and sourced through FSC certified sustainable forests. Even our rust surfaces are natural. We use ferrous activation to create truly distinctive finishes and each one is truly unique. Our paints are UV stable and all water based so that we don’t use environmentally unfriendly VOCs.
Our aim is to supply you a piece of furniture that can last for ever if looked after.
Iron-fire has 5 simple, common sense principles for environmentally responsible sustainability.
Firstly make something to last. Secondly make every part exchangeable and upgradeable.
Thirdly make it out of renewable materials. Fourthly don’t use processes that require toxic ingredients.
Lastly make it locally to the market its sold in.
A final part of the jigsaw is not to make too much of a fuss about it, it’s just the way things should be.
How do I care for my Industrial Style Furniture?
If you are using our furniture outside then make sure you keep the table covered when not in use. This prevents acidic deposits and dirt harming the surfaces. To clean your table use a solution of warm, soapy water with a soft cloth. This should suffice on both metal work and timber tops. We lacquer all wooden surfaces so the timber does not leave rings. In the event that the polished surface on an inside table is marked, simply apply some more polish and rebuff. If any component is deeply scratched or otherwise damaged please do contact us for replacement parts.
Galvanised steel has a zinc coating that increases the longevity and durability of your indoor or garden furniture while preventing corrosion. For light cleaning, simply wiping down the steel parts of your furniture with a damp cloth will reduce dirt and build up.
For a more intense clean, a nylon or plastic brush and detergent will remove any dirt.
Ironfire Industrial Furniture uses Douglas Fir. This probably has the best mix of hardy durability and sustainability as well as having interesting grain patterns. For indoor use, we use a natural polish which gives a deep sheen. It can be cleaned with a natural furniture polish to maintain the natural finish. For garden use, we varnish the table tops with a very tough water based resin to increase the longevity. The occasional use of a wood worm treatment can make the Douglas Fir last even longer, and cleaning with a non-abrasive gentle detergent will remove dirt.
We keep a record of all paint finishes for our customers so if a touch up is required, we can supply a paint match for your table top.
The material used for our garden cushions is UV stable but keep out of direct sunlight as much as possible to prevent long-term fading. We recommend that you protect outside chairs with a cover to keep them clean and provide extra protection.
Outside cushions are sealed and so are not machine washable. However they are stain resistant and water proof so a gentle scrub should remove any dirt. The material used for our indoor cushions is 100% cotton, and is therefore machine washable although tumble drying and dry cleaning should both be avoided.
Plump regularly to maintain appearance and even distribution of filling and wear.
Do you deliver outside of mainland UK?
What if I’m out when you deliver?
Items delivered by Courier will be left in a safe location where possible. Usually our Ironfire Construction Team will deliver. They will have agreed a time with you and will ring you if no one is available.If we can’t contact you or there is not a safe place to leave your items, the courier or our staff will leave a card to enable you to rearrange your delivery.
You’ll need to call us on 01985 878795 to organise a re-delivery. This will incur a delivery charge.

Do you offer a bespoke service?
All of our products are custom-made to order, and therefore no table will look the same. Due to the uniqueness of wood grain and the knots in the wood, and the unpredictability of the burning process. We offer a huge variety of colour finishes and sizes, but if you are looking for something truly unique, then we can help. Contact our experienced in-house design team for a free consultation, and we’ll guide you through the process and create a piece of Ironfire Furniture that’s as individual as you are.

Does my Industrial Furniture come assembled?
Wherever possible all our Ironfire Furniture is delivered by our in-house delivery team and will be assembled on site. Sometimes smaller items and deliveries to remote locations outside our normal delivery areas Ironfire use selected Couriers.
Please note that some of the smaller items in our range might require simple assembly. We include full instructions.
Our contract is to deliver to your front door. We endeavour to take the furniture exactly where you want it but you will need to tell us if there are obstacles like stairs.
Courier deliveries are made to your front door between 8.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. We do all we can to agree a convenient delivery time though providing a ‘precise’ time slot can difficult. Typically they’ll offer morning, afternoon or evening time slot, this may be subject to change due to traffic or adverse weather conditions etc.
We typically charge £40 per delivery to mainland and lowland UK deliveries. Please contact us for a delivery quotation.
Can you make Ironfire items to order?
Yes! We’re always happy to hear from our clients. Call us if you have very specific requirements or need an item custom sized. Our experienced in-house design team will be happy to help you create Ironfire Furniture that’s as individual as you are.
How do I place an order?
How do I pay for my order?
Simply pay online through the website via Debit card, Paypal or BACS. We can also provide you with a pro forma sales invoice before making payment if required. Alternatively call us direct during office hours if you prefer to speak to one of our sales team.
Can I make changes to my order?
Changes to a website order can be made right up until you select ‘confirm’ in our checkout process. There’s no problem though if you find you’ve made a mistake or just want to make a change afterwards. Just call us as soon as convenient on 01985 878795.We’ve been in business for 25 years and we’re expert in sorting out minor dramas! There might however be a charge for our costs if we have to remake work already started or completed .
We’ll advise you of any price or delivery time adjustments and then simply get on with it.
Can I cancel my order?
What is your returns policy?
In most circumstances we will deliver to you ourselves. That means you will get sufficient time to inspect that the goods are as ordered and delivered in good condition. We do therefore ask you to check them carefully before signing acceptance. Because the goods are made for you and to your order we don’t offer a returns policy unless there is a manufacturing fault found during your inspection.Do not sign for goods until you have inspected them as there will be no redress afterwards. In the unlikely event you should need to return any items, please give us a call on 01985 878795 or send an email with your order details.
If goods returned due to our fault or damage No collection fee will apply . Nothing stated herein affects your statutory rights.
Terms of Refunds
It is not possible to refund made-to-order items unless you cancel in accordance with your rights under Consumer Contracts Regulations or they are faulty or not as described, in which case we may ask to review the goods through an independent inspection before a refund is given. We process all refunds as soon as possible but no more than 14 days after you’ve informed us of cancellation of your order. We refund using the same method of payment you used to pay for your purchase. These conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
To obtain a refund you must take reasonable care of the goods. Until returned to us you are responsible to ensure goods are not lost, damaged or destroyed. You have a legal obligation to take reasonable care of the goods while they are in your possession. If you fail to do so we reserve the right to refuse a refund.
Do you have a showroom for your Industrial Furniture?
This is the next exciting step in the Ironfire story. We’re currently planning a buried factory site that will be an ‘experience showcase’ for our clients to visit. It will allow them to see how our products are made, and become involved with the process first hand. Seamlessly and aesthetically merged into beautiful country surroundings with minimal impact on the environment we’ve put as much thought into this development as we have with our Ironfire Furniture. Until we have built this you are of course still welcome to visit us and we can promise that we’ll have the kettle on!
